My great grandfather Marshall H. Killey was born 12 Feb 1850 supposedly in Marion county Ohio. Family tradition say he was originally from the Isle of Man. The original name was O'Killey. Marshall died 9 Dec. 1928 in Roscoe, or Burbank CA and was buried in Los Angeles,CA. He married 7 Dec 1871 in Waubaunsee KS to Mary Ella Jackson. She was born 15 June 1854 in Chicago, Cook county, Ill. She died 2 Jan 1930 in Gunnison CO. Father, Andrew Jackson, Mother Hannah Fuller. She divorced Mr. Killey and married Otis Allen Wilt. Killey and Mary Ella had 7 children, Mary, Benjamin, Gerrude (my grandmother) Pearl, Cora, Joseph and Anna. There is reportedly a son, Kenneth buried here as well but no marker. Look up KILLEY on "Find A Grave" website. Many are listed there.

My Grt Grandfathers brother, William Wilson married a Jessie Killey in 1910.

Marriages Dec 1910
Wilson William W. Derby 8b 509
Killey Jessie W. Derby 8b 509

Jessie was born in Peel on the Isle of Man c1870.
The IOM does appear to be the main area for the Killey name. So I feel that most with the name on the Isle maybe related in someway.
Do these names sound familiar to anyone who has done some genealogy research.?

Regards
Paul

I have been trying to research my family tree for a couple of years now and have managed to get a little way back in the Killey side, with 5 brothers passing on the Killey name I think this branch is doing it's bit to keep the name going! My grandfather, Ernest Fredrick Killey was born in Bridgenorth in 1910 and unfortunately passed away when I was young in 1981, his parents were Philip Henry Killey and Genevra(Genevora) who was origionally a Tolley. Philip was a tailor born in Patrick, IOM in 1870 and grew up in Peel. He pops up in 1891 in Liverpool and then moved to Bridgenorth. He died when my grandfather was 2 years old, so there wasn't any family history passed on. Research has shown that Philips parents were Philip Killey born 1812ish in Patrick and Eleanor/Ellen born 1835 in Douglas. I believe that this Philip Killey died in Liverpool in 1897. My great grandfather Philip had a brother John who was born in 1863. I would be grateful for any further information that anyone has on this branch of my family tree and would love to hear from anyone that may be related.
