I have an old photo of granny Killey taken abt 1920, she looked to be late 70-80s.also daught , Margaret Ann Killey .b1868 ,m James Cain b 1865.d1914.
Their (son)James Joseph Cain b1885.
grnd son Lesley Cain b 1916.4 generations,we dont know what granny Killeys name was.on J J Cains birt cert, it gives Margaret Killey, Cain, lived at Ellanbane./. Ellenbaine,
James Joseph Cain changed his age in N Z to enlist in the N Z army ww2 to b 1895.on his I O M birth cert the date is b 1885,he had allready served in France 1915 - 1920.His younger brother Stanley Cain also served in France ww1.
Stanley Cain m Anne Kaighan they moved to Australia aft ww1.
Margaret Ann Killey, Cain is buried in Lezayre church yard with the Cain , Cubbon Cain .familys,she died in Stockport Eng 1948, the old Cain farm was at Corody , Sulby Glenn. I also have a photo of J J Cain taken 1911 ,where he got first prize Blacksmith comp Onchan, Douglas. J J Cain & Stanley Cain were both Blacksmith by trade.
I have also found out latley that Margt Killey also had 2 sisters.Eleanor Killey m ??? Quine.
