the james killey married to eleanor is the captain james I mentioned in my earlier note (see below). I believe eleanor was to have joined her husband in the US but died (drowned)en route. My family was also resident in australia and I have been in contact with their descendants and have samples of hair from captain james's brother, my great great grandfather, William and his wife Isobella Crellin

Having always known my family name as Kelley, I was mystified to see itwritten as Killey on a list of my great grandfather's siblings that I found in an old family bible. After much genealogy research, i find that almost without a doubt my family came from IOM. I will tell my meager info to anyone who responds, perhaps they can help me!

In Washington state our name is not known well, in fact nobody seems to have ever heard of it before. Therefore it is surprizing to find this information about us. In Washington live the four children of Richard Thomas, oldest to youngest; Jeffery, Jeremey, Jennifer, and Jared. Jeff has the sons Jeffery, Micheal, and Justin. Jeremey has a daugter Megan. Jenny has two sons Zachary, and Nicholas. Jared has a stepson from Mexico named Marlon. Our origins from the Isle of Man will soon take another turn when Jared and Elizabeth have a child half anglo and half latino (mexican). Richard is the son of Phillip Killey. Richard grew up in Chicago and it would be interesting to know who is the father of Phillip.

I am researching Thomas Killey b abt 1793, mar. to Elizabeth Kewney from IOM. Their son was also Thomas b Nov. 19, 1815 in Lezayre, IOM. He was mar. to Elizabeth Whittle Aug. 17, 1841 in Canada. One of their sons was my ggfather Eurotus James Killey. Any information would be appreciated.

My branch of Killeys added an 'a' in the late 19th century - John Evan Killey(a) who was born in the Isle of Man c.1850. His father John (b. c. 1823) was a ship captain and we have some original ships papers from him
